I had a few questions to ask Ugnė Rajunčiūtė, consultant, on the technology team at Eames Consulting in the UK, and she shared the challenges shes faces, her number one secret to success, and why Eames.

1. How did you get into recruitment?
I joined recruitment after graduating from university.

2. What is your advice for someone just getting into recruitment?
Ask a lot of questions, listen to your managers and successful people in the business and trust the process and advice.

3. What is it about recruitment that has kept you in the industry?
Learning new things every day , being responsible for your own personal successes and the people I work with, inside and outside of the business.

4. What is your proudest moment in your career to date?
My first deal mail!

5. What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career so far, and how have you overcome that?
The biggest challenge was simultaneously learning about recruitment and cybersecurity (the industry I recruit in). I overcame that by seeking lots of advice from my colleagues or managers, actively listening to my candidates and clients, as well as proactively attending cyber seminars and webinars.

6. What is your number 1 secret to success?
Consistently working towards your goals even when there are small setbacks.

7. What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?
“If the first thing you do in the morning is to eat the frog, then you can continue your day with the satisfaction of knowing that this is probably the worst thing that will happen to you all day.”

8. What are you driven by, and how do you stay motivated?
I am driven by seeing results in what I do, and as a recruiter, you not only work for the wider business or your team, but also for your personal brand.

9. How do you keep a work/life balance?
I try to stay as focussed and productive as possible during my working time so that I can enjoy my free time outside of work. I also try to take a break or time off every quarter to reset and ensure I dedicate time to hobbies outside of work.

10. Why Eames?
Everyone is very approachable and supportive. We're all very diverse but share the same values.
