A note to #TeamEames on our 20-year anniversary

A note to #TeamEames on our 20-year anniversary

Today we’re celebrating the twenty-year anniversary of Eames. 20 years of making opportunity happen. But how do you measure 20 years? Is it by careers we have helped shape? Or businesses we have helped build? Or the opportunities we’ve made happen for our people? It's all a matter of perspective. We first opened our doors to Eames Consulting in September 2002. I remember very clearly the day I signed the lease on our first office in Hammersmith and employed the first of two colleagues. Starting the business with an empty database but a very clear vision of how I felt recruitment should be done properly. From that small office in Hammersmith to a global team of over 150. We’ve built four strong, reputable brands with an impressive number of long-standing relationships around the world. Some of you have been on this journey with us for some time – there are eight of #TeamEames who celebrated our ten-year anniversary and are still with us today. Another 24 of you have celebrated 5-year milestones with us over your career. Amazing. I will never take your loyalty to the business for granted. That's why this milestone is an opportunity to celebrate you — the people who make Eames Group what it is today! Our success belongs to all of you. In 2021 we shared with you, a plan for the ‘Future at Eames’. We reaffirmed our ‘why’ - why we do what we do, and together with you, outlined five core values that we felt, would steer us on our journey forward. Your drive, resilience and commitment to our values have pushed us toward our goals. It’s been an amazing journey – but we are more focused on the future than ever. The world we live in is changing faster than it ever has before – and there is opportunity for those who want to make it happen. Thank you for playing your part, and I’m looking forward to the continued journey with you all.Happy Birthday, #TeamEames.

Creating an inclusive, equal, and diverse digital experience at Eames Group

Our workplace is for everyone. And our online communities should be too. We’re excited to share that the Eames Group website now provides enhanced accessibility support to create a barrier-free user experience. We now provide Recite Me assistive technology on our website to enable all our website visitors to customise their experience in a way that best suits individuals’ needs. One in five people has a disability that can prevent them from reading and understanding online content. Those who are most susceptible to access barriers are those who struggle with decreased vision, learning difficulties, literacy, language/linguistic problems, attention disorders and physical disabilities. We also recognise that our communities span borders, and Recite Me will enable users who speak English as a second language to utilise the translation tool, available with over 100 language options. Recite Me accessibility software implemented on our website provides users with the opportunity to customise their online experience. The toolbar includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages, including 35 texts to speech and styling options. This includes changes to the font size, type, and colour. To access the assistive toolbar on the Eames Group website, click the circular blue accessibility icon at the bottom right of the website. ------- Recite Me functionality is also available on our brand sites: Eames Consulting, Eames Partnership and ECMS. For more information on Recite Me, please visit their website here. For information on our partnership with Recite me please contact Sarah Roebuck, marketing director.

Eames Group ranked as a world-class place to work on 2022 Best Companies list

Eames Group has received a three-star accreditation from Best Companies, highlighting us as a world-class place to work. The three-star accreditation is the highest standard of workplace engagement you can receive. We prioritised employee well-being and fostered a culture of inclusion, purpose, expertise and empathy. In return, our employees spoke in volume in our annual employee engagement survey. Over 100 individuals from #TeamEames from across the globe shared their views on life at Eames, and we’re thrilled to learn employee engagement is at its highest in our 20-year history. From listening to feedback from our employees, we sought to improve in areas that supported employees' lives at work, and at home and saw a marked 6% improvement in ‘workplace wellbeing’ and ‘giving something back’ since we completed the survey in 2021 Our agile working environment enables our team to prioritise what’s important to them, regardless of their job style or where they work. Wellness programmes have encouraged employees to seek work-life balance and prioritise their health and wellbeing. We’ve been able to open up the conversation around mental health and reduce the stigma around asking for help. Best Companies also recognised our ability to connect our values and goals to our team and ensure that our work has meaning and purpose. Opportunity Makers serves to guide every member of #TeamEames to helping one another achieve beyond our expectations, pushing and supporting each other to get the best out of our work and our lives. 100% of our team said their work is an important part of their life. Speaking of our ranking as a 'world-class' employer, Chief People Officer Ruth Foster shared: “True employee wellbeing goes beyond surface-level perks. We strive to foster a workplace that celebrates diversity, belonging, trust and purpose. For Opportunity to happen, we must stay true to our values, and keep focused on our people. Feedback from our employees is vital for us to continue to create opportunity as an organisation. The output from this survey will be invaluable for us to understand what we are doing well and where we can improve. I am grateful for our teams who have led our wellbeing, diversity, inclusion and charity initiatives this year. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. A happy and healthy team is a successful team, and I am delighted with our ‘world-class’ recognition from Best Companies.”Founder & CEO, Matthew Eames shares:“As employers look to the future and strive to put the disruptions of the last two years behind them, successful organisations are benefiting from offering employee experiences stronger than pre-pandemic times. Our 3-star ranking is an endorsement of the people-first culture we’ve fostered. We know that employees who feel their work has meaning are more invested in our purpose and collective success. Being an Opportunity Maker is about helping one another achieve beyond our expectations, pushing and supporting each other to get the best out of our work and our lives. I love coming to work every day knowing we’re all in this together. Congratulations on this recognition, #TeamEames. I am incredibly proud.”

Eames has the right ethos for someone who wants to both succeed in recruitment and genuinely enjoy what they do.
