This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified actuary looking to take on a broad and commercially focused capital role within a highly respected specialty insurer.
Working alongside senior stakeholders across Underwriting, Risk and Finance, you'll play a key role in shaping capital insights and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, enhancement and governance of the internal capital model.
  • Deliver capital analyses to support underwriting strategy, business planning and portfolio management.
  • Produce and communicate capital model results to senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements, including Solvency UK and ORSA activities.
  • Contribute to model validation, documentation and parameter reviews.
  • Assess the capital impact of underwriting and reinsurance decisions.
  • Support strategic projects relating to capital optimisation and business growth.
  • Develop and enhance modelling processes, tools and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with teams across Actuarial, Risk, Finance and Underwriting to provide capital insight and challenge.

About You

  • FIA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Previous capital modelling experience gained within the Lloyd's or London Market.
  • Strong understanding of Solvency UK and regulatory capital requirements.
  • Experience working with Igloo
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Commercial mindset and an interest in supporting wider business strategy.
  • Programming experience (Python, R, SQL or VBA) would be advantageous but is not essential..
