We are partnering with a leading Lloyd's market insurer to appoint a Head of Pricing within its Specialty division. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a qualified actuary to shape pricing strategy across a diverse and complex portfolio, while leading a high-performing team and working closely with underwriting and executive stakeholders.
The successful candidate will take ownership of pricing activities across specialty lines, supporting business growth through the development of sophisticated pricing models, portfolio analytics and underwriting insights. Working at the heart of the business, you will partner with underwriting, exposure management, reinsurance, risk and finance teams to drive profitability, enhance decision making and support strategic planning initiatives.
This role requires a commercially minded actuary who can combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder management skills. You will be responsible for evaluating portfolio performance, identifying optimisation opportunities, reviewing large and complex risks, and providing actionable recommendations that influence underwriting strategy. The position also offers regular exposure to senior leadership through presentations, business reviews and strategic projects.
Candidates should be qualified actuaries with strong pricing experience gained within the commercial insurance or reinsurance market, ideally with exposure to Lloyd's business planning and pricing processes. A strong understanding of specialty classes, portfolio management and actuarial modelling techniques is essential, together with the ability to analyse complex datasets and develop innovative pricing solutions.
Experience with stochastic modelling, data analytics and modern pricing methodologies will be highly advantageous. Strong technical capability in Excel is expected, while knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI or similar analytical tools will be viewed favourably.
