An established international insurer is seeking a qualified actuary to join its European reserving team in a senior role. You will take primary responsibility for specified non-life portfolios, managing quarterly reserve reviews and peer-reviewing analysis produced by reserving analysts.
The position involves calculating actuarial central estimates, incorporating management's best estimate and communicating results to underwriting leaders, senior management and governance committees. You will also support portfolio analysis, reserving systems, regulatory reporting, external audits and the integration of reserving insights into planning and pricing.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you will coach junior colleagues, build strong relationships across Underwriting, Claims, Finance and Actuarial, and help develop effective partnerships with offshore teams. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with Pricing, Planning and Capital Modelling specialists.
The successful candidate will be a qualified actuary with at least three years' post-qualification experience and a strong background in non-life reserving. You will bring broad knowledge of reserving methodologies, excellent stakeholder-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. A collaborative approach, sound judgement and the confidence to explain complex actuarial matters to non-technical audiences are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of diverse European portfolios while contributing to wider actuarial and strategic initiatives.
